Beauty Things

Y’all already know how fragranced obsessed I am and the quest for the prefect layering body oil continues! A colleague of mine was wearing this scent a few weeks back and it was so intoxicating (in the best way) I immediately ran home to order it for myself. I love a roll on oil — the scent lingers and transfers beautifully onto your clothes and hair, giving it more surfaces to play with. Malin + Goetz is known for it’s awesome body washes and shampoos but they also make fabulous, no frills fragrances and have a total winner with their leather roll on body oil!
And if there’s one thing I’m more obsessed with beyond fragrances, it’s skincare. After growing up with terrible acne throughout my teenage years, suffering through painful facial treatments and terrible smelling products that only exacerbated and dried out my skin, I’ve worked hard to build a holistic routine in my 30s — what I eat, what I drink, moving my body, getting enough sleep! — to get my skin to a good place. I try not to switch up my skincare products too often but when my girl Maya tells me a product is in her list of “holy grails,” I don’t hesitate to try it. Now thankfully, I was gifted this amazing package of 111Skin products after attending one of their events in NYC because babyyyyy, these thangs don’t come cheap! But let me tell you, THEY WORK. I’ve started incorporating the REPAIR SERUM NAC Y² into my nightly routine and I wake up with my skin feeling so soft, moisturized and with noticeably minimized pores. I’ve also started using the OXYGEN EXPRESS MASK while in the shower, especially after a long night out or wearing makeup for consecutive days (I typically avoid wearing makeup during the week outside of special business meetings or events). And I would NEVER spend $240 of my own money on a single-use face mask but I understand why all the celebs swear by this mask for photoshoot and red carpet prep. I used it as party of my Met Gala after party skincare prep and even with my heavier than usual makeup application, my face was super glowy and hydrated for the entirety of the next day.

All Hail LaQuan Smith!
I know I mentioned attending a Met Gala after party earlier (thank you, Sir John for hosting us!) and all I can say is that LaQuan Smith knows how to design one hell of a dress. This is the most daring look I’ve worn in a while but I’ve also never gone to a Met Gala after party so why the hell not go for it?! I felt naked 😂 but so comfortable and sexy the entire night!
That’s it for now :)
